Chronic disease refers to a long-term health condition (typically persisting for one year or more) that typically requires ongoing medical treatment or monitoring. This broad disease category includes heart disease, arthritis, diabetes, endometriosis, cancer, and asthma, among others. Many chronic diseases lack curative treatment options, limiting patients to palliative measures that control disease symptoms. Due to the lack of existing treatments, as well as the large number of people affected by chronic disease conditions, scientists are eagerly pursuing novel therapeutic options for affected populations.
The Momentum team can support these research efforts from the early stages of target identification through preclinical research and characterization. We have experience culturing a wide variety of cell types, and many of our service lines are compatible with virtually any sample type. This flexibility enables us to provide superior service for diverse disease applications. We also offer biomarker discovery, validation, and quantification services (including PlasmaScout™, ProteomeScout™, QuantScout™ and LC/MS pharmacokinetics) to support disease research and treatment monitoring.
